The indeedNET project name stands for "Integration and demonstartion of energy efficient dwelling networks". This project involves a consortium from academia and industry including Advantica Limited (Formally British Gas Research Centre) acting as the lead member of the group.
This project is funded by Technology Strategy Board through under the Technology Programme - 6th Call (Sustainable Production & Consumption: Energy Efficiency Technologies) 2006. The total budget is £0.57m. The objective is to develop and demonstrate wireless sensor/actuator networks for |

energy saving in smart home environments. It focuses on the technical challenges of two-ways wireless communications and control, system integration. The research activities include (a) developing two-way wireless radio modules and integrated them into proven sensors and actuators that needs to be controlled, (b) developing a wireless home network optimised for heterogeneous sensors and actuators, (c) developing an information infrastructure and networked energy management system, (d) demonstrating the energy saving focused home network and energy management system to the public in the test house of Advantica Limited.
The Technology Strategy Board is a business-led executive non-departmental public body, established by the government. Its mission is to promote and support research into, and development and exploitation of, technology and innovation for the benefit of UK business, in order to increase economic growth and improve the quality of life. It is sponsored by the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS).
